윤석남(b.1939)은 마흔의 나이에 미술에 관심을 가지기 시작해 그림을 배우기 시작하면서 모친을 모델로 작업을 하게되었다. 약 10년간 어머니의 삶을 주제로 평면 회화에서 설치 작업으로 형식을 확장 시켜나갔으며, 《어머니의 눈, 1993》에서 나무 설치, 입체 콜라주등 설치 적 요소가 사용된 작업을 선보였다. 이후에는 20년 간 모친을 넘어 중산층 여성들의 삶과 고충을 여성주의 시각에서 해석한 룸 시리즈로 활발한 작품 활동과 여성주의적 행보로 한국 여성 주의 미술운동을 이끌고 있다.
Suknam Yun (b.1939) became interested in art at the age of 40 and began learning to draw, using his mother as a model for his work. For about 10 years, he expanded his form from two-dimensional paintings to installation works with the theme of his mother's life, and presented works using installation elements such as wooden installations and three-dimensional collages in Mother's Eyes, 1993. For the next 20 years, she led the Korean feminist art movement with active artwork and feminist actions through the Room series, which interpreted the lives and hardships of middle-class women beyond her mother from a feminist perspective.
